Start with one question

Who are you planning for?

Choose one. We will only show you the information that matters for that visit.

Never climbed before

One simple way to start.

For beginners aged 13 and above, come for open-gym climbing. BFF will brief you on safety and help you find approachable routes.

Choose your first BFF

Which of the three gyms?

All three welcome beginners. Decide whether you want the biggest climbing playground, the highest walls, late-night bouldering or simply the most convenient location.

01Choose BFF’s flagship and largest outlet for the widest bouldering experience and many auto-belays.

Bendemeer

Start with lower-wall bouldering on thick mats, or use an auto-belay after briefing. Bendemeer gives you lots of terrain to grow into.

  • Largest bouldering space
  • 30 auto-belay lanes and 2 MoonBoards
  • Rental climbing shoes and water cooler
02Choose this for the widest mix: high wall, auto-belay, speed and bouldering.

Tampines Hub

A first-timer can use one of the many auto-belay lanes: clip in, climb and the device lowers you. No belaying experience is required.

  • 11–13m high walls and many auto-belay lanes
  • Top rope, lead, bouldering and a 10m timed speed wall
  • Kids Guided, rental shoes, high-wall equipment and water cooler
03Choose this for Tampines bouldering or a late-night session.

Tampines Yoha

Like Bendemeer, Yoha is a straightforward no-ropes bouldering start, with very late Friday and Saturday hours.

  • Bouldering walls across varied abilities
  • Late-night Friday and Saturday climbing
  • Rental climbing shoes and water cooler

  • Start easy, rest often and ask whenever unsure
Passes made simple

For visit one, buy a single entry.

The pass depends on the outlet—not on how experienced you are. Rental shoes are added separately.

Tampines Single Entry

Use it at either Tampines gym. Choose Hub for high wall and auto-belay, or Yoha for bouldering.

At the gym

What happens when you arrive?

You will not be expected to know what to do. Tell the front desk it is your first climb and a BFF Buddy will guide the setup.

01

Check in

Tell the Buddy at the front desk that it is your first BFF visit. They will confirm your account, waiver and pass.

02

Collect your gear

Get correctly fitted rental shoes. At Tampines Hub, collect any high-wall equipment relevant to your climb.

03

Attend the safety briefing

Learn how to use the area safely, including falling and landing rules or auto-belay use where applicable.

04

Start on the easiest tags

Warm up on beginner routes, progress one level at a time and ask a Buddy for recommendations whenever you are unsure.

Experienced, but new to BFF

Your BFF fast track.

You already know how climbing works. What you need is the BFF-specific information: which gym, which pass, whether verification applies, how route tags work and where to find the next reset.

On the wall

Learn BFF’s wall, not climbing from scratch.

Start a level below your usual grade while you learn the set, wall angles and tags. Grades vary between gyms; movement style matters as much as the number.

Route tags

Follow one tagged climb.

Use the start and finish information shown at the wall. Ask a BFF Buddy to explain the local tag system on your first session.

Progressive grading

Small steps, varied movement.

BFF aims for gradual progression across balance, coordination, footwork, power and problem-solving—not one style at every level.

First-visit questions

Arrive knowing what to expect.

Do I need climbing experience?

No. BFF’s gyms are designed to be beginner-friendly. Adults can begin with independent open-gym climbing after the safety briefing; first-time children should start with Kids Guided.

Do I need to be strong or fit?

No. Start on the easiest route tags and take rests whenever you need them. BFF sets gradual levels and varied movement, so beginner climbs are designed to be approachable without advanced strength.

Is the safety briefing the same as a climbing lesson?

No. The briefing explains how to use the climbing area safely. It is not a coached climbing lesson, but a BFF Buddy can point you towards suitable beginner routes.

Can I come alone?

Yes. You can boulder independently at Bendemeer or Yoha, and use auto-belay independently at Tampines Hub after the briefing. Top-rope climbing requires a belayer who has passed BFF verification.

Do I need to book for Climb Zone?

Walk-ins are currently available. Create your BFF account, complete your profile and sign the waiver before arriving to make check-in faster.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear comfortable sports clothing. Bring socks if you will rent climbing shoes and a refillable water bottle for the water cooler. Rental climbing shoes are $5.45.

Can I belay or lead immediately if I already climb elsewhere?

At Tampines Hub, you must pass BFF’s safety verification before belaying or leading. You can use auto-belay without verification.

Which gym should a beginner choose?

Choose by the experience you want: Bendemeer for the largest bouldering space and many auto-belays, Tampines Hub for the highest walls and auto-belay, or Yoha for east-side and late-night bouldering. All three welcome beginners.
