- Two qualifying runsThe faster valid time determines ranking.
- Valid run requiredComplete without a false start or fall and within the permitted time.
- Knockout fieldTop 16 when there are 16+ valid qualifiers; top 8 for 8–15; top 4 for 4–7.
Equipment & requirements
Ready to race.
- Climbing shoes were mandatory; rental was $5.45
- BFF and My Little Climbing Room students could rent shoes free
- A harness was required and could be borrowed free
- All climbs used auto-belays
Rules & awards
Competition conditions.
- Standard IFSC Speed rules applied except for false starts
- A false start resulted in DNF rather than disqualification
- Medals were awarded to the top eight in each category
- Spectators and accompanying parents entered free
How registration worked
One parent account on GripRank.
Parents created an account, added each child as an athlete, selected the category and paid online by PayNow. GripRank stored athlete profiles, competition history and live scores for future events.
